Halloween Kitty

I was going to visit a good friend and since the cat stamp was a gift from them, I wanted to make a Halloween card (even though it was early) to give and show my appreciation.

I love the sassy look of the cat and I suspect you'll be seeing her (yes, it's a she) being used in many projects to come.

How I Made my Card
White Card Base
Black Cardstock
White Cardstock
Purring Stamp by JudiKins, #3395
Halloween Brad from Teresa Collins' Masquerade Party (I am not sure if this kit is still active, but you can find the entire kit, as well as bits and pieces all over the web)
Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black
Scraps of Black & Orange Paper
Black Sharpie

I started by choosing the element I wanted next to the cat.  I riffled through my enormous stash of Halloween goodies and came across the Masquerade Kit (if you are a Halloween aficionado like I am, you MUST get the kit from Teresa Collins - it is FULL of awesome goodies! I have been seeing it on a few of the
The Kit
daily sale sites and it is well worth the price in my opinion) and chose the Halloween brad.  I like that it uses all the traditional Halloween colors and almost looks as if the cat won a contest!

Once the brad was chosen, I stamped the cat using Jet Black ink and positioned the brad to even out the card. then I had the bright idea to edge the white card with a black Sharpie.  Sometimes the Sharpies bleed a little, and that is exactly what you see on the sides of the panel.  Oh well, it was too late to start over and I know you probably would never even noticed if I didn't tell you, right? Anyway, I found the fabulous orange and black scraps, which kinda remind me of paw prints and I glued them onto the card after I glued the white panel to the black panel.  Once all that was dry (or as dry as I had time for) I attached the whole shebang to the white card base.

It didn't take me long to put the card together and the recipient loved it! Thank you SO much for stopping by and I'd love it if you'd become a follower. I am trying to get 100 new followers for the year and I am only about 25 shy - and if you leave a comment, please put your blog address in it so I can visit you back! Fondly, Christi
