Boo to YOU ~ Happy Halloween at Paper Funday!

I was lucky enough to buy these stamps and dies from Mama Elephant when they were having their moving sale and SO happy that I got them! The little witches are SO cute {and don't even get me started on the little cats - peeking out of the pumpkin!! Adorable!!} and are "agenda" sized, yet I was able to use my watercolor markers to color them.  Perfect for this cute Halloween card and the challenge twist at Paper Funday Challenges!  Halloween is my favorite holiday and I can't ever have enough Halloween stamps, dies, paper or decorations! Anyway,  here is my card, I hope you think it is as cute as I do!

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
Mama Elephant Little Witch Agenda Stamps
Mama Elephant Little Witch Dies
Mama Elephant Big Boo & Trick Dies
Studio Katia Glow in the Dark Mini Stars, #SK2520
Kat Scrappiness Starlights Jewel Slimline Paper, #KA-PP005
Echo Park I Love Halloween 6" x 6" Paper Pad, #ILH218023
Watercolor Paper {I use
this}
Zig
Clean Color Brush Markers
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink

The GITD stars glowing!
Once my little witches were colored, cut and dry I started to assemble my card.  I cut "boo to you" about eight times out of thick white cardstock, then used a patterned Halloween paper for the top layer, glued them all together to give the words a nice pop and set it aside.  I chose a paper that is a bit too busy for me to use as a patterned paper background; just not my style, but it worked so well used in this manner.  I took a sheet of the background paper and trimmed it down; since it is designed for slimline cards it isn't as wide as typical background paper which left a small white border around the paper.  I then glued the sentiment onto the card, placed all my witches and cats where I wanted and lastly, used a few glow in the dark stars - they shine a bit in the light and really do glow in the dark!

So, as usual, you can enter the challenge at The Paper Funday Challenge with Anything Goes, or use our monthly twist - which is Halloween! I would celebrate Halloween every month if I could - I think we should!! Get to dress up and eat candy?? Works for me! The heat is finally beginning to break and it's getting chilly in the evening. Granted, not chilly enough to shut off the ceiling fan or shut the windows, but I can feel the change in the air!  Until next time, happy crafting! Christi

Happy Birthday America!

Here is a quick little card I dashed off to celebrate the Fourth of July.  I think it's cute and fits the bill for a celebration!

What I used to Make my card:
White Card Base
Carta Bella God Bless America 6"x6" pad, CBGBA136023
Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy Ad On: Family, #LF1585
Lawn Fawn Claire's ABC's #LF381
Lawn Fawn Scripty Birthday, #LF2354
Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail White Embossing Powder
Dimensional Dots

This was a quick and easy card; the hardest part was trying to get the little letters to cooperate! They seemed to stick everywhere but where I wanted them to, but after asking some stamping friends what to do, I powdered the tips of my fingers a bit and they then cooperated fully!  The first step was to cut the patterned paper to fit on the card base, then cut birthday out of white card.  As the card was drying I embossed "Happy" and "America" in white on navy blue card, then worked out my placement. I popped the two words out with dimensional dots and fit the birthday between them.  There you go! A red, white & blue card fit for the fourth of July!  Perfect for your favorite Patriot!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful holiday! Hugs, Christi

Cream & Black Halloween & Giveaway Information!

I actually made this card last year - that happens to me often with Halloween; the holiday might be technically over, but my creative drive is still totally into it.  I have stacks of Halloween paper, from all manufactures, and I found this paper in an Echo Park pad.  Here is my Cream & Black Halloween card:

Now, as you can see, this card was very simple to make.  I trimmed a piece of the Spooky Icons to fit onto the black card base.  Then, on the cream colored card, I stamped the Happy Halloween.  The sentiment was then die cut and pop dotted to the front of the card.  This is the type of card you could make over and over again since it is so easy!  I think the colors compliment each other.  Just a

little shout out to Maria at Cherry Pie; they have been in business since 1991 and she has amassed a stunning array of stamps.  Just take a peek at the decorative elements she has (click here) - I don't get paid for this and she doesn't even know I'm telling you all this, but I honestly feel Cherry Pie is worth a look.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you enter my little giveaway.  Stay tuned for many more Halloween cards and projects - this is my FAVORITE holiday and I have so much fun playing with spooky goodies! Fondly, Christi

Cat Lover's Blog Hop ~ If the broom fits. . .

Hi all! I'm thrilled to be settled enough to enter my kitty cards in the Cat Lover's Blog Hop

For those of you that haven't been reading my blog long, you can learn all about my fur babies by clicking on the page at the top of my blog, or, just click here

I had colored in a bunch of the Crazy Cats a while ago (I color while watching TV) and water colored them with Distress Markers and Kuretake Clean Color Markers.  If I can recall what I used for each design I will certainly let you know. Everything is stamped with waterproof black ink pads.

OK, enough housekeeping stuff, on to my first card:

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
Watercolor Paper
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Crazy Cats Dies #661209
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Crazy Things Dies #660953
Distress Ink in Ground Expresso
"If the Broom Fits" Sticker by Echo Park, Hocus Pocus Collection, #HP91016
Blender Pen
Pop Dots

After seeing the card, I imagine it is fairly self explanatory, but, here are a few steps anyway.  I stamped the Crazy Cat on watercolor paper and proceeded to color it in.  I stamped the witch's hat, in black ink and the broom, in brown ink, from the Crazy Things set and then colored and die cut all the pieces out with the matching dies.  Glued the hat and the broom onto the cat, pop dotted the cat onto the card and lastly, stuck the sentiment sticker on.

I absolutely love Halloween, it's my favorite time of year, so don't be surprised that I'll be matching cats with the season.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I am sure Janis from Her Peaceful Garden would love it if you made a few cat cards and joined in the fun! ~ Christi
PS: Sorry in advance about all the Halloween kitties Janice :)
