Lawn Fawn Trick or Treat HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

~*~* HAPPY HALLOWEEN~*~

Hey! Thanks for stopping by! I made this card out of some old and new Lawn fawn stamp and die sets; it's so much easier to justify purchasing something when you can mix and match it with items you already have {or, plan on buying!}.

I have so much Halloween paper {well, truth be told I have so much paper, period} and I wanted to give these cute little guys a background so I used an older paper pad by American Crafts called Bootiful {retired but available}.  I stamped, colored and die cut the main images from the Spooktacular stamp & die set, cut the grid from the Peekaboo Backdrop die set out of Textured Dot Neutrals card stock and embellished using the cute little spider, ghost and bats from the Tiny Halloween Stamps and Dies that I had left over from another project.

Again, this card is a bit cuter than my usual style, but I am finding it fun to use some colors in my work lately.  I've tried to figure out exactly what my "style" of creating is and I don't know.  Some artists I can recognize purely by looking at their work but I don't think that will ever be the case for me! I hope you and yours are doing well & hope to see you soon - Hugs! Christi

I am entering my Trick or Treat card in the following challenges:

Send a Smile 4 Kids - Holiday/Celebration for Kids

Have a Spooktacular Day!

** Looking for the Cat Lovers Blog Hop Day 6 post?? Where I have a GIVEAWAY going on?? Well, it's right here :)

I have colored and cut out so many sets of these adorable little houses, ghosts, and bats from this Lawn Fawn set I wouldn't be surprised if they end up popping up on all sorts of cards.  I think I colored and cut out an entire town! I love having extra pieces ready to go in case I get an idea to make a card, or have to make one quickly.  Do you stamp, color & cut out more than you need for a project? Please let me know I am not the only one!  Please enjoy my spooky little scene:

What I Used to Make my Card:
Brown Card Base
Watercolor Paper {I use this}
Embossing Ink
Tim Holtz/Ranger Oxide Inks Pre-made Sky Background

Like I said, I must have stamped, colored, and cut at least 6 neighborhoods of these adorable houses! I chose this group as they are kind of spooky to me since I used grey and brown to color the houses.  I also stamped and cut some ghosts, bats, a few trick or treaters, and that adorable little pumpkin patch.  The sky had been done and was in my stash; I have been working for a while now to get a really spooky sky and I love this one!  I cut the hillside out of a brown slightly darker than the card base to offer some interest, then attached everything you see.  Since I gained some confidence with stamping directly on the cards I am making, I did it again with this sentiment.

This was the first card I'd made with this set {yes, I have had it since it's release} and it was so fun! I'm not sure how I missed posting this last year but I found it in my drafts {yes, from LAST year - hiding out in my drafts!!}, so here it is. I hope you are finding some crafty time, I know for me if it wasn't for this hobby I would of gone mad ages ago! I have to admit, the last year or so hasn't been that much different for me except I don't have to make an excuse to stay home and craft :) Thanks so much for stopping by and please stay safe!  Christi

CLBH A Nervous Halloween Kitty {DAY 6} and a GIVEAWAY

UPDATE: Winner chosen!!!

Another fun Halloween card for the Cat Lovers Blog Hop!!! Today is the LAST day to enter, but you still have a few days to show all the entrants & sponsors some love! I love the holiday SO much I truly think we should make it last longer. . .  How about 2 months of Halloween? Maybe 6? Too much?

I have to admit I have been longing for all the sets of snarky cats that Tim Holtz put out, but I wanted the matching dies. Now I can't find the dies for any of the sets and it seems he may be getting ready to discontinue the lot of them so I gave up.  I was happy to have found this little combo which includes these stamps and a stencil which was much more inexpensive than the set so I scooped it up.  I also found one for birthdays and I am sure that will be making it's debut soon.  On a piece of water color paper I stamped the cat, the bat and the two sentiments.  I colored in the cat and pumpkin with my Zigs then layered the panel onto the patterned paper that I had already attached to the white card base.  I love the look on the cat's face!

Now the Cat Lovers Blog Hop has a HUGE amount of prizes to be won; and a bunch of ways you can win them - so I urge you to go and check it out :)  Thanks SO much for stopping by ~ hugs! Christi

You are Spooktacular!

Hi everyone! This card was made with an older Lawn Fawn set and even though it's older, I think it's an adorable stamp set {the set was released in 2014!!}.  You can still buy this set from Lawn Fawn, or any place that sells their products but I was lucky to find the stamps and the dies on one of my de-stashing FaceBook groups.

I started out stamping the bats on standard white cardstock, then filled in the background using the candies and stars from the Spooktacular set.  I left the bats black and white, coloring the other items with some Copic markers.  I trimmed the background and attached it to a white card with dimensional dots.  I stamped the sentiment with the same black ink I used on the background, Gina K's Amalgam ink in Obsidian on white card, cut it out with Stitched Rectangle Dies from Memory Box and layered it onto dark purple card which I then trimmed as well.  I have to take a moment and talk about this Amalgam ink - it is the only ink I have found that can be used for both water coloring and alcohol marker coloring.  Granted, if I am going to watercolor, I typically stamp on this watercolor paper, so it isn't as if I don't know what medium I will be using as I am making a card, but it takes out that little bit of worry wondering if the ink I have used will smear once I am coloring it.  The color is vibrant and the price point is right in line with most inks.  So I attached the sentiment to the card with dimensional dots as well, finishing the card off with some sequins I had in my stash and Stickles in the color Cosmic.  Stay tuned as I have another card I made using the same stamp set on the way.

While this card is a bit more juvenile than I typically make I am very pleased with how colorful and cheerful it looks.  I tend to lean towards the darker side of Halloween, so this was a nice break from the spookier side of the holiday. However, a friend did say to me that she feels things don't come much scarier than this overload of cuteness - fear not, the dark side is on the way :) Thanks for stopping by! Christi

CLBH Life will be Purr-fect!! {DAY 5}

And yet another card for the Cat Lovers Blog Hop! As most of you know I adore cats and I seem to collect cat stamps almost as easily as I collect actual cats (truthfully, if I had as many real cats as I do cat themed stamp sets I'd go out of my mind - I honestly don't know how people with children get anything done! Between feeding, scooping, loving, breaking up spats, brushing and attempting to cut nails I can barely get anything done. Parents you have my utmost respect!) Anyway, I think these little cats from My Favorite Things are so cute and this card allows me to show them all off properly!

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
Blue Star Paper, Lucky Prints from MFT {retired}
MFT Mini Meows Stamps, #CS-533
MFT/Die-Namics Mini Meows Dies Set, #MFT-1905

Watercolor Paper {I use this}
Zig
Clean Color Brush Markers
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink
Uniquely Creative 10 Window Frame Die, #UCD1764

I began this card by stamping, coloring and cutting out the cats.  I wanted the colors to be a bit muted, nothing that caused your eye to go to one particular cat so coloring them was quite easy and fast.  I set them aside to dry and cut out the 10 window frame using a retired patterned paper.  Positioning the sentiment in the very bottom of the card, in the largest window of the die, I stamped it directly onto the card base.  I attached the frame onto the card and filled in the other nine windows with the cats.

With all the nastiness floating around this card is perfect to send to someone you literally haven't seen and it shows you miss them.  At the same time, it's cute and hopefully will bring a smile to the face of the recipient.  I hope it brought a smile to your face, too!  Thanks for spending some of your time with me, stay safe and see you soon! Slimline Trick or Treat Card

Another Halloween Card - I cannot believe only a few more days until Halloween, so I am posting like crazy! I'll probably be posting 2 cards a day until the Holiday is over.

If you are looking for the Cat Lovers Blog Hop post, click HERE

I went a bit nuts with this card but in my defense I had just gotten the Pink & Main Plaid Slimline die and I wanted to play with it; so play I did!

I started by cutting the Plaid die out of white card, then I used the die cut as a stencil, coloring the paper with Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Carved Pumpkin and Wilted Violet.  Once that was done, I set the colored die cut aside and used Trinity Stamps Slimline Embossed Circles die to cut out the circles.   I had some leftover Halloween characters from a cut and color I had done using Lawn Fawn's Booyah! stamps & dies so I popped those critters in the circles.  I finished off the card with the Trick or Treat Lawn Fawn border in black card.

It's honestly a bit more colorful than I am used to, but I think it's pretty cool looking.  I hope you are crafting away for the season and hope to see you soon! Christi
