You're the Cat's Meow - Cat Lovers Blog Hop DAY 2

And for Day 2 for the Cat Lovers Blog Hop - this is one of my favorite events ever and I hope you support the hop and ALL the generous sponsors :)

 I made this card to have on hand if I just wanted to send a cute little note to let someone know I am thinking of them. Honestly, I needed to use these kitties - I got the stamps & dies a bit ago and they have been sitting on my desk, meowing at me. I have a boat load of cards I've made and never sent out, so I don't know who I think I am kidding!

 I stamped the cats, and their toys,  on watercolor paper, using my favorite black ink, then colored and cut them out using Avery Elle's Whiskers Stamps and Dies.  I blended a bit of Distress Ink Spun Sugar  onto the white card base to give a bit of grounding for the kitties.  I stamped the sentiment {from the same stamp set} onto some white card and used Die-Namics Fishtail Sentiment Strips to cut it out.  I glued the cats, their toys and the sentiment onto the card and to add a bit more interest I cut some hearts using Lawn Fawn's Long Distance Hugs die set out of some paper I had made using Distress Oxide inks Spun Sugar

I love the way the kitties came out! Thanks for stopping by! Christi and have fun hopping!!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

You're Dog-Gone Awesome!

As some of you may remember, I have a good friend who is absolutely dog crazy and I made this card just to brighten her day a bit. And, it just so happens that the August monthly theme for Paper Funday Challenges is Cute Critters {you can also choose Anything Goes}!

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
DCWV Playful Pets 6x6 Stack, #PS-006-00154 {not on DCWV site, but available}
Reverse Confetti Double Stitched Window Cover Panel
Avery Elle Furry Friends stamp set, #ST-15-13 {retired but available}
Avery Elle Furry Friends die set, #D-15-13
{retired but available}
Lawn Fawn Howloween Die Set {crown}, #LF1207
Sizzix/Tim Holtz Mini Bird Crazy & Things die set, {bow tie}, #660949 {retired but available}
Watercolor Paper {I use this}
Zig Clean Color Brush Markers
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink
Small Piece of Mirror Gold Card
Small Piece of Glitter Pink Card
Red Sparkle Gel Pen

The Inside
As usual, I started this card by coloring and cutting all the pieces of the dog, including the crown, bed, and bow-tie.  Then I used the cover die to make the window panel out of the patterned paper.  I adhered the paper to the card base, placing the items where I wanted and gluing them, too.  I finally stamped the sentiment in the front of the card and inside.  Fairly simple card considering all the elements I used.  :)  I used the mirror card on the crown to pick up the foil accents on the paper and the pink bow because Lola is always dressed to the nines; she has more and better clothes than I do!

I hope this card gave you a smile!  I enjoyed making it and got to use some new {to me} stuff, like the cover panel. I hope to see you at Paper Funday entering your own Cute Critters cards! Have a GREAT day - fondly, Christi

From All of Us

I had made this post for the Cat Lovers Blog Hop and obviously neglected to post it! That will teach me to get distracted! Instead of saving it for next year, I thought a break from all the holiday crafting would be nice so I am sharing it with you.

Outside of the Card                                                        Inside of the Card

This card is another fairly simple one using Avery Elle's set All of Us, brand new to me and the first time I've used it.  I had originally made this card for a co-worker who had gotten another job but I was unable to give it to her.  I kept it and I am very sure something will arise and this card will be perfect!!  I stamped the group of cats out on watercolor paper, colored them in with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and then die cut them using the matching dies. I also used a stitched square die on the white card base to make a peek a boo window. I used Gina K. Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink to stamp out the cats and the sentiment.  The groups of cats were attached, each one slightly atop the other, and then the paw and the congrats sign were placed on the card.

I think this is a really cute card and the set has other animals and sign sayings so you can use the set for almost any occasion.  I hope you enjoyed my card! With this craziness, COVID and the holiday season, I hope you & yours are safe and healthy! Thanks, Christi

It's Birthday Season!

Most of the people in my life celebrate their birthdays in the next 4 months and I just found out that April 21st is my favorite boss's birthday; I literally made this card in a few hours since I was seeing her the next day and then she had some time off.  I wanted to be sure she had this in time for her birthday.  Deana, my boss, loves the color pink and the bunnies have a special meaning between us, so you know the card had to include both! Here is the card I made for her:
The colors actually do match in real life!
What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
Avery Elle Balloon Elle-Ments
Lawn Fawn Some Bunny Stamps, #LF1587
Lawn Fawn Some Bunny Dies, #LF1588
Derwent Inktense Pencils
Die-Namics Stitched Oval Stax, #MFT-521
Hero Arts My Monthly Hero, March 2018 {used the word Birthday}
3mm Gems {these are marketed for nail art - MUCH cheaper than craft gems!}
Pink Glitter Card

Light Tan Card
Pink and White Card
Hero Arts Ink in Bubble Gum
Hero Arts Pink Accent Pearls
Momento Ink in Tuxedo Black

I was really pressed for time {I typically take at least a day to design a card} but I had this type of birthday card in my head since I got the Balloon Letter
Dies. I grabbed 2 pre-colored bunnies and set them aside; these were left over from my spring cards and colored with Inktense Watercolor Pencils.  I cut out the word HAPPY using the Balloon Elle-Ments and accented them with tiny gems.  I got 12 colors of these gems in the nail art section - I think I paid about $6 for the bunch and they come in their own little container!  I have enough of these to bling everything and anything for quite some time.  If you want info on where I got them, send me an email using the contact form on the right side.

Next, I attached the string cuts, styling them as needed so the bunnies could hold the balloons.

I stamped the sentiment {it is incredibly hard to find a birthday stamp - tons of Happy Birthday, but just birthday? Thank goodness the Hero Arts monthly kit had one!} on some white card, cut it out using the stitched oval stax, and then used a larger oval to cut out the glitter card.  I know in the photos the pinks don't look like they match, but they do compliment each other in real life just fine {I hate it when I can't make the colors look right!}  I attached the sentiment oval onto the glitter card and set it under the tile to dry and adhere really strongly - I've found that glitter card doesn't always take to something attached to it, so the weight of the tile works wonderfully.

Meanwhile, I adhered the bunnies and the balloon letters to the card base.  I used some pink pearls I had and punched out some tiny hearts from the left
Another Look
over pink glitter card.  I arranged the pearls and hearts where I wanted them, then attached the sentiment.  I'm very pleased how well it came out and how well the design transferred from my head to actual paper!  She loved the card and that's another birthday down! You can be sure I added it to my calendar so I won't be caught off guard next year.

Thank you SO much for stopping by! Since you have read this entire post I will let you in on a secret - my giveaway is coming up by the end of this month! One of the requirements is going to be that you are a follower of this blog, so why not do that right now while you are thinking of it and so you'll get notice of the giveaway.  I'm actually thinking of having two separate prizes, but more info on that will be in the post.  I appreciate all the follows and comments; I read each and every one! I hope you got a bit of inspiration from my card and I'll see you soon ~ Fondly, Christi

PS: She LOVED the card :) xo
