You Have My Heart

Hey everyone!

First, I have been moving and as I write this I am currently surrounded by bins & boxes - I'm exhausted just looking at all the stuff I need to find homes for.  Anyway. . . .

Have you ever seen a card and said to yourself "I need that stamp"? That was the beginning of this card!

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
Simon Says Stamp You Have my Heart Stamp Set, #SSS202250C
Simon Says Stamp You Have my Heart Die Set, #SSSD112295C
Watercolor Paper {I use this}
Zig Clean Color Brush Markers
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink
Distress Ink in Blueprint Sketch
Dimensional Dots
Wink of Stella Clear

Cindy's Card
I was so inspired by the beautiful card made by CRNCards {you can check out her other creations on her Instagram account, @CRNCards}I had to get this set.  I love the clean and simple look of the wreath, and the purple hues Cindy used are just gorgeous! Since there is only one flower on the wreath I figured I could actually color the image and make it look good enough to present it to the public.  I enjoyed coloring this wreath so much I plan on stamping a bunch of them on watercolor paper, to have them ready if the coloring bug bites me.  I have already stamped and started to color the other floral element in the set but this wreath is my favorite part! All I did was stamp the wreath, color it with my Zigs, cut it out, figure the placement, stamp the sentiment onto the card base and use dimensional dots to attach the wreath.  I'm not skilled at clean and simple cards but I feel that this card is a great example.  So, as I asked before, have you ever seen a card and literally rushed to get the set it was made from? If so, let me know below!

Thanks for stopping in, I appreciate it!

Fondly, Christi

A Cat and Coffee Card

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing well - I never would have thought we'd still be here in this mess, but I am lucky as no one I care about has been effected by this nasty virus!

On to the card that I am posting today; I was inspired to make this card after doing the Saturday post at Challenges for Days - I update the Saturday challenges and I saw quite a few calling for a CAS card and I haven't used any of my Newton's Nook stamps in ages, so here is my creation:

I stamped, cut and colored the adorable cat from the Newton's Nook set, Newton Loves Coffee first using my Zigs. I used a white card blank and stamped my sentiment directly onto the card; the sentiment is from a set called Mug Life from Ink Road Stamps.  I then attached Newton onto the card and I was done! Since it only took a few products to make this card I thought I would write up my post with the products directly in the post instead of making a separate "How I Made my Card" list.  I'm anxious to know what you think - should I stick to my usual way of posting or does this way work for you? Please let me know in the comments!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Even if you don't leave a comment {which I apologize for, seems since I have Anxiety in my blog name every black market pill manufacturer is leaving me comments on how I can obtain my Zanax from out of the country} I can see from the stats that I was visited.  I have been blogging for years now but, with Instagram becoming so popular, I actually considered stopping writing this blog. After much thought, I decided against it - I like writing my posts and "talking" to you all, so I am here to stay!

Fondly,
Christi

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hello everyone!

This cute card was made for my Design Team project on The Paper Funday Challenge.  The theme is Irish Luck (use green on your project) and my card features a bunch of Lawn Fawn goodies. Since most of my family is Irish, St. Patrick's Day is a holiday close to my heart.  I enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it:

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
Green Glitter Card
Light Green Card
Copic Markers
Lawn Fawn Special Delivery Stamps, #LF2466
Lawn Fawn Special Delivery Dies, #LF2467
Lawn Fawn Simply Celebrate Spring Stamps, #LF1896
Lawn Fawn Simply Celebrate Spring Dies, #LF1897
Lawn Fawn Celebration Scripty Sentiments, #LF1898
Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop, #LF1625
Die-Namics Fishtail Sentiment Strips, #MFT-1125
Distress Oxide Ink in Lucky Clover
Watercolor Paper {I use this}
Zig
Clean Color Brush Markers
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink

You can see the
glitter a bit better
here

I began, as I do with most of my cards by stamping, coloring and cutting out all the elements I need. The birds were water colored {and their beaks were cut with the included die; isn't that just the cutest?} and the clover was colored with Copic markers. I then set them all aside to concentrate on the backdrop portion of the card, I cut a piece of green glitter card and the quilted backdrop out of a lighter green card and attached them to the white card base.  The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of scrap white card then die cut. After everything was done and dried I assembled the card as you see in the picture. I think it came out so cute!

Whilst there are a lot of different stamps, dies and coloring mediums the project was easy to put together and it looks like the image in my mind {always a plus!}

Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? My mother used to make corned beef and cabbage and that is one meal I truly miss {not the cabbage}! And the sandwiches the next day were so good! I have fond memories of this holiday and that meal.  I hope you have a fantastic St. Patrick's Day - like the saying says "everyone can be Irish for the day" - and be safe!

Fondly,
Christi
