I am not a fan of spiders. I am much better than when I was younger; a small spider would throw me into such a tizzy, I'd go running away before I could even verbalize that there was a spider there. I now try to put them outside (as long as the spider doesn't get uppity and start crawling on whatever I am carrying it on; if it starts to move, all bets are off) and not kill them, but that is contingent on how big it is. I am trying to coexist with them and I am making progress! I adore the sentiment I used on this card and I hope you get a chuckle out of it!
What I Used to Make this Card:
White Card Base
Recollections Halloween Laser Die Cut Paper, #10517530
Riley & Co. Sentiment, #RWD-361
Darice Embossing Essentials Nesting Circles, #2014-74
Hero Arts Black Intense Ink
Sparkly Spider Sticker, Dollar Tree
Black Sequins
The first thing I did to make this card was trim down the die cut paper. The pad from Michael's has some really cute pages; in addition to the web there are bones, bats and a pretty pattern. There are even some beautiful laser cut
metallic papers! So, I trimmed the web to fit my card base, attached it and left it under my drying tile.
While my base was drying, I stamped the sentiment onto white card and die cut it using the circle dies. Once the background was dry, I popped the spider sticker on the card and attached the sentiment. It needed a bit more bling, so I added a few black sequins. It was a really easy card to make and, while the Halloween season is almost over (sniff), I will be using that pattern design in some other cards.
Thank you so much for visiting! I have a small giveaway going on and I would love for you to be a part of it!

Ha ha! I love that sentiment! My daughter can relate! That spider from the Dollar Tree is great too. Wonderful card!
ReplyDeleteChristi, That sentiment is hysterical, and also very true! I'm with you in hating spiders but can only admire your courage in putting them outside. Sorry, not something I can do. On the other hand, I can't even get close enough to them to kill them so we generally call a truce until they decide to march back outside on their own. I won't even sweep down cobwebs until they are so filled with dust that no self-respecting spider would still be living in one! lol Great card, my friend.
ReplyDeleteFab quote on your card! SUPER! Thank you for joining us atTry It On Tuesday !
