This is actually the first card I made with the Kit of the Month from Hero Arts (I talk about the kit and rave about it here). I simply couldn't resist that heart made of roses and I had to check it out as soon as I got the kit. I love that I can also cut the center out of the heart if I choose - so versatile!
What I Used to Make my Card:
Red Card Base
White Cardstock
MISTI
Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit (MMH kit) January (sold out)
Hero Arts Ink - Bubble Gum, Strawberry and Soft Pink
Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black
Sequin Hearts
I began by stamping the heart base with the Bubble Gum ink on the white card panel. Then I topped the heart base off with the flower detail stamp using Strawberry ink. That was stamped using the MISTI to help line everything up and I'll tell you, the more I use the MISTI the easier it is and the more ideas and ways to use it I come up with.
I overstamped the heart with the sentiment "happy valentine's day" using Jet Black ink. The set has a few tiny hearts and I inked them up with Soft Pink, Bubble Gum and Strawberry and randomly stamped them around the card. I liked the look of the card, very clean and simple for me, but it needed some bling. I got my stash of sequins (I have sequins from the 90's and I am fairly sure these sequin hearts are that old!) and used some small sequin hearts which I placed randomly around the card. There! I mounted the white cardstock panel onto the red card base and I was done.
I appreciate your time and I would love it if you'd follow me - if you leave me your blog info in the comments I will gladly follow you back ~ fondly, Christi

Just another look - funny how the sequins caught in the light change the "color" of the card. |
